Text transcribed from caption: PC-45695 BOMB DAMAGES WESTMINSTER HALL LONDON -- Flames and smoke pour from Westminster Hall, the most historic part of the Houses of Parliament in London, after a bomb blast set off a fire which damaged the 900-year-old chamber. Police said that the bombing was the work of the Provisional wing of the Irish Republican Army. A man with an Irish accent telephoned a local news agency, giving six minutes warning of the explosion and using a code word of the IRA to identify a genuine alert. For several hours after the early morning blast, smoke shrouded Big Ben (left) as firemen fought the fire fed by an ignited gas main. Credit Must Read: RELIGIOUS NEWS SERVICE PHOTO (B-LON-6C-74-DS)

Text transcribed from caption: PC-46617 WEDDING ON HORSEBACK NEW YORK-- The newlyweds kiss and the minister gives his blessing (top photo). A typical wedding scene, except that all are on horseback. And three hours after their wedding, the bride and groom were back to work as was the minister -- announcing their performances in "The Wonderful World of Horses" at Madison Square Garden's Felt Forum. Bobby and Wendy Wilson perform in the show and the minister, Austin Miles, is the announcer as well as an ordained clergyman of the Assemblies of God. While a wedding under such circumstances -- on horseback and in an arena -- might seem like a flashy show-business gimmick, Mr. Miles emphasized that it was natural and meaningful for people who work with horses to be married on horseback -- a symbol of their life and work together. The marriage of Bobby and Wendy was the first that Austin Miles has performed on horseback, but the second involving a couple in the horse show. Last year, he joined Steve and Connie Page together in holy matrimony -- in a church in Erie, Pa. Appropriately enough, it was the Pages who attended to the wedding couple's horses before the ceremony. (bottom photo). When the motorist takes time to read it, he discovers that it is not for a parking violation, but a summons to have a happy holiday and a reminder to lock his car. Text transcribed from caption: PC-47800 THE EXCITEMENT AND JOY... (First of Two Photos) NEW YORK-- The excitement and joy of the Christmas season is written all over the faces of children as they meet Santa Claus. They were the guests of honor at the annual fund-raising party given for the youngsters of the New York Foundling hospital and other programs of the New York Catholic archdiocese. As Cardinal Terence Cooke, who hosted the party, said, "when you see the simplicity and joy of these children responding to the love of others, that's the real Christmas spirit of love and concern."
