Martin Luther King, gets an assist from their three children as they pack this picnic basket with extra provisions. This is the 10th day the Atlanta pastor has spent in jail for his integration activity. From left are: Martin Luther King, III, four-years-old; Yolanda Denise King, 6; and Dexter Scott King, 18-months old. The photo is one of more than 100 illustrating the words of Pope John XXIII’s famous encyclical, Pacem in Terris -- Peace on Earth. The excerpt for this picture reads: “God also created man in His own image and likeness, endowed him with the intelligence and freedom and made him lord of creation.” On display at New York’s Hallmark Gallery through April 2, the exhibit has been praised by Protestant, Catholic and Jewish religious leaders. Robert Harrison, left, shown here with the noted evangelist, Dr. Billy Graham. Mr. Harrison has served with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association since 1948. It was announced at Assemblies of God missions headquarters at Springfield, Mo., that he would conduct evangelistic campaigns in British Honduras and Jamaica during January and February. Text transcribed from caption: C-30414 FATHER WEIGEL, FAMED THEOLOGIAN, DIES AT 57 NEW YORK -- Father Gustave Weigel, S.J., famed U.S. Roman Catholic theologian and ecumenical leader, died Jan. 3 at the age of 57. A member of the Vatican Secretariat for Promoting Christian Unity, Father Weigel was noted for his friendships and contacts with Protestant and Orthodox. Here the priest is shown in familiar settings. At top, he is shown at Alexandria, Va., where 20 Protest-ant churches and the city’s largest Catholic church joined in 1962 in a program of prayer for Christian Unity. With Father Weigel (third from left) were, left to right, Suffragan Bishop Samuel B. Chilton of the Protestant Episcopal Diocese of Virginia; the Rev. William Basom of Beverly Hills Community church; and the Rev. Charles Bayer, pastor of First Christian Church.
