the Catholic Association for International Peace, Dr. Francis E. McMahon
(left) of the University of Chicago, enjoys chat with Miss Mary P.
O’Flaherty, chairman of Connecticut Council of Catholic Women, the Rev.
Edward A. Conway, S.J., of the Social Action Department of the NCWC, and the
Re. Wilfrid Parsons, S.J., of Catholic University of America. Dr. McMahon
told the “Peace Through Justice” conference that Spain’s Franco regime
is as much opposed in principle to Christian teachings as Russia. Father
Conway called on Catholics to help shape a plan for world disarmament, while
Father Parsons declared avoiding of total atomic warfare “is the greatest
