CEREMONIES NEW YORK -- A pledge to help prepare seminarians for full
involvement in the “world-wide social revolution” was made in New York by
Dr. John C. Bennett (center) as he was installed as the 11th president of
Union Theological Seminary. Other taking part in colorful installations
ceremonies at Riverside church, from left to right, included: Dr. Lawrence H.
Chamberlain, vice-president of Columbia University; Father Vincent T.
O’Keefe, S.J., president and rector of Fordham University (Roam Catholic);
Chancellor Louis Finkelstein of Jewish Theological Seminary, and Dr. Charles
L. Taylor, executive director of the American Association of Theological
