Description:
Text transcribed from caption: PC-30438 POPE AND PATRIARCH JERUSALEM, Jordan
-- Christian history is made in the Holy Land as Ecumenical Patriarch
Athenagoras of the Eastern Orthodox Church and Pope Paul VI meet in
Jerusalem. Their conversation at the residence of the Roman Catholic
Apostolic Delegate to Jordan was the first between a Pope and a supreme
leader of Orthodoxy in 525 years. A second meeting saw Pope Paul call upon
the Patriarch at the Orthodox Patriarchate in Jerusalem; there, accompanied
by Orthodox and Roman Catholic prelates, they prayed for Christian unity.
