Description:
Text transcribed from caption: P-30639 DANISH PRINCESS TO JOIN ORTHODOX CHURCH ATHENS -- Princess Anne-Marie, 17, third in line to the Danish throne, will join the Greek Orthodox Church when she marries Crown Prince Constantine of Greece next January. The couple is shown in Athens during a visit by the Princess last July. The Prince is heir to the throne now held by King Paul and became Regent of Greece during his father's illness. Princess Anne-Marie must renounce all rights to the Danish throne when she is married, since the Danish constitution requires the head of state to belong to the Danish Lutheran Church, and not be queen or king of another country. Description:
Text transcribed from caption: P-30580 NEW ANGLICAN ARCHBISHOP OF CAPETOWN CAPETOWN -- Bishop Robert Selby Taylor of Grahamstown, a 53-year-old, six-foot athletic clergyman, was elected Archbishop of Capetown, automatically becoming Metropolitan of the Anglican Church of the Province of South Africa. He succeeds Archbishop Joost de Blank, who retired because of ill health and has been named a canon of Westminster Abbey. Like Dr. de Blank, who gained worldwide attention for his out-spoken attacks on South Africa's apartheid policy, Archbishop Taylor is a staunch foe of racial segregation. A native of Yorkshire, Archbishop Taylor has headed the Grahamstown diocese since 1959. He is a former bishop of Northern Rhodesia and of Pretoria. He was elected archbishop by an assembly of clergy, laity and bishops which deliberated three days before agreeing on a successor to Dr. de Blank.
