Text transcribed from caption: INTERRACIAL CHURCH #1663 PHILADELPHIA -- To a full congregation of both whites and Negroes, Rector Thomas Logan of Calvary Protestant Episcopal Church here describes the form of the service just completed. Calvary formerly was predominantly white, but a population shift cut its weekly Sunday attendance to about 25. It then was merged with St. Michael’s and All Angels Church, with Mr. Logan moving his congregation to Calvary in September 1945. Average Sunday attendance now is 250. Text transcribed from caption: INTERRACIAL CHURCH #1662 PHILADELPHIA -- This weekday gathering of young people at Calvary Protestant Episcopal Church here doesn’t have to stress racial tolerance. These youngsters, white and Negro, learn together, with Rector Thomas Logan getting a big smile out of all of them. Mr. Logan, formerly at St. Michael’s and All Angels Church, has raised Calvary from chapel status to that of an independent church. His present congregation is 90 per cent Negro, ten per cent white.
