Description:
Dr. John A. Mackay in one day trip to the 38th parallel in Korea on the 7th of November, viewed the parallel from the Methodist compound. The artificial but very real line runs across the mountain range squarely behind Dr. Mackay's back. The range to his right (your left) is on the side of the democratic forces, that on his left (the viewer's right) is defended by communist forces. When the communists get into a "playful" [illegible] shells and bullets are apt to fall into the Methodist compound. The missionaries sleep on the lee side of their homes.
