Description:
Agricultural missions and rural reconstruction are part of the work in Deir ez Zor and surrounding area. In this picture a young Palestinian refugee, Mahmoud Hamad, takes advantage of the current copy of Poultry Journal in the home of Rev. and Mrs. Carl [ Jean Catherine] Nelson. Mr. Hamad is a teacher in the government elementary school of agriculture in Deir ez Zor. Personal friendship with the missionaries meant much to this young man recently when he lost his wife.
