In this photo, some of the children are shown as they received a bowl of soup, a relief item send by American church groups. Text transcribed from caption: REOPENED AS GERMAN CATHOLIC SCHOOL #C-4870 BERLIN -- Famed Ettal Cloister, a magnificent Catholic monastery high in the Bavarian mountains founded in 1330 by Emperor Ludvig, has been reopened as a school to train teachers as part of the long range de-Nazification policy now in effect in Germany. Since 1905 the monastery fathers have devoted most of their time to the education of young boys but their work was interrupted when the Hitler SS confiscated the building and grounds at the outbreak of the war.
