Malek Yonan was an Assyrian leader of Geogtapah, Urmia, a large landowner, builder of the Mar Zayya church. He taught English at the Fiske School for Girls in Urmia. His son, Mirza David Malek-Yonan, was the Governor of Geogtapah. Shedd's description from album: A Syrian minister and his family probably evangelical and linked with mission.
