- Text transcribed from caption: P-30578 ARMY DONATIONS TO AID JAPANESE YOUNGSTERS FORT CARSON, Colo. -- Money collected at Protestant chapel services at Fort Carson, Colo., is turned over to Chaplain (Capt.) D.E. Lee (seated), custodian of the post chaplain's fund. The $602 collected will be added to an earlier offering at the post which gathered about $800 -- all of the funds to go toward purchase of kindergarten playground land and a reconstruction program at Tagajo Christian church in northern Japan. The church was started 10 years ago by wives of servicemen stationed at nearby Camp Schimmelpfennig. Chaplains turning in offerings here are, left to right; Lt. Col. James R. Barnett, a Baptist from Texas; Lt. Col. W.H. Green, Baptist from Florida; Capt. Geoffrey D. Knott, Baptist from North Carolina, and Capt. P.B. Bliss, Presbyterian from Connecticut.
