- The trees of the rainforest rain from scrub to majestic type such as here pictured - a giant cottonwood. Prized very highly for its beautifully grained lumber is the African mahogany, quantities of which have been exported to Europe and America. Some mission residences have been constructed of finished white mahogany, the waxed grain supplanting the need for pictures.
