- Text transcribed from caption: ITALIAN KING SAVED CZECH PRELATE’S LIFE #1134 PRAGUE -- Monsignor Otto Stanovsky, Canon of St. Vitus Church in Prague, and president of the Prague branch of Caritas, international charitable organization. Msgr. Stanovsky was condemned to death after the assassination of Reinhardt Heydrich, Nazi “butcher” of Lidice, but the sentence was commuted to imprisonment after the intervention of King Victor Emmanuel of Italy, who is a personal friend of the Czech prelate.
