- Description
- Text transcribed from caption: P-31174 TOPPING-OUT CEREMONY MARKS CHAPEL PROGRESS NEW YORK -- An eight-foot Douglas Fir tree was hoisted to the top of the Protestant Chapel at Kennedy International Airport in New York in a centuries-old ceremony marking one-third completion of the structure. Holding guidelines (right photo) from left to right are Edgar Tafel, architect who designed the chapel for the Protestant Council of the City of New York; R.L. Cowan, chairman of the airport chapel committee, and the Rev. William J. Boone, chaplain who has been developing a united Protestant ministry at the airport while the chapel has been under construction. Looking on is James G.
