- Calling for the order of the day : lessons of liberation for the 21st century.
- Description
- Rev. Dr. Katie Geneva Cannon, Annie Scales Rogers Professor of Christian Ethics at Union Presbyterian Seminary, delivers a lecture on doing justice, loving mercy, and walking humbly with God as lessons of liberation for the life of seminary and church. Using the life story and literary writings of Phillis Wheatley to illuminate these lessons of liberation, the speaker asks what difference it might make in seminaries, churches, and the dailiness of our Christian lives, if we took seriously the writings of Phillis Wheatley and others from Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
