- Text transcribed from caption: C-31331 AMERICAN WOMAN GETS PAPAL HONOR IN MEXICO MEXICO CITY-Miss Anne Sarachon Hooley of Kansas City, Mo., is the first American citizen to be decorated in Mexico with the Gold Star of the Lady of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre, founded in Jerusalem in the 11th Century. The papal honor was presented to her by Archbishop Luigi Raimondi, Apostolice Delegate to Mexico (left). Among dignitaries at the presentation was Fulton Freeman, U. S. ambassador to Mexico. Miss Hooley has been a Mexico resident for four years. Active in many civic and social groups, she has headed the U. S. O. in Mexico. She is director of a school for bi-lingual secretaries. Dr. Johannes Blauw of Hilversum, Holland, (left photo) who headed an exploratory committee for the new literature plan, addresses the group of some 200 Protes-tant and Orthodox churchmen attending the Commission sessions. The meeting also featured several workshops on various phases on missions and evangelism. Dr. Kathleen Bliss (right), head of the WCC’s Division of Ecumenical Action and the Board of Education of the Church of England, leads a group discussing the Christian approach to intellectuals.
