KAYENTA, Arizona--Charley Redd, a Navajo Indian contemplates his future as he stands recently in the valley near his home at Seta Canyon, Arizona. Mr. Reddy, whose Indian name is Black Hat, recently celebrated his 106th birthday. Until his retirement, he had been a medicine man in the area -- treating tribesmen psychologically and physically for more than 65 years. Commenting on the passing scene, Mr. Redd said, "Years ago we had vegetation on the mountains.....it's all gone now. We used to live in harmony with the plants around us."
