- Pope says Mass for Catholic workers.
- Description
- Text transcribed from caption: C-30997 POPE SAYS MASS FOR CATHOLIC WORKERS VATICAN CITY -- Pope Paul VI is cheered as he is carried on his portable throne in St. Peter’s Basilica where he said Mass for Catholic workers in connection with the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker. In an address, later broadcasted by the Vatican Radio in many languages, the Pope stressed the Church’s “understanding of the world of labor.” He exhorted Catholic workers to become apostles of the Church’s social teachings, to be alert to un-Christian influences among their own ranks, and to fight against temptations to become lax in practicing their faith. Placards identify regional chapters. Credit Must Read: RELIGIOUS NEWS SERVICE PHOTO (AN-5B-64-NAB)
