A Pontifical High Mass will be sung by Cardinal Gerlier in Lyons Cathedral. An outspoken opponent of the Nazis during the occupation of France, Cardinal Gerlier was responsible for saving many Jewish children from falling to the hands of the Nazis. At one time a member of the Foreign Legion and a secret service agent in Africa, Father de Foucauld ranks among France’s national heroes. The exhibition in his honor was arranged by Abbe Louis of Les Invalides, who spent many years collecting souvenirs and relics of Father de Foucauld. The priest was mysteriously slain in Fort Tamanrasset on the Sahara desert during the first world war. Credit Must Read: RELIGIOUS NEWS SERVICE PHOTO (POI-PARIS-MES_6D-6-C)
