- Description
- Bettie J. Durrah is a Presbyterian elder, born in Newman, Georgia, a fourth-generation African American Presbyterian. She completed a bachelor's degree in Biology at Spelman College, and holds two master's degrees, from Clark Atlanta University and Georgia State University. From 1995 to 2004 she served in the PC(USA) Women's Ministries as national staff in the Synods of Living Waters, Mid-Atlantic, South Atlantic, and Trinity. An elder at Radcliffe Presbyterian Church (Atlanta, Ga.), she has served as moderator of Presbyterian Women at congregation, presbytery, and synod levels; as moderator of the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta; and was a commissioner to the 2000 General Assembly.

- Gail Ricciuti, Anthony Ricciuti, Ed Saphar, and Chuck Lundeen oral history, 2019.
- Description
- Gail Ricciuti and Anthony Ricciuti co-pastored Downtown United Presbyterian Church (Rochester, NY) from 1983 to 1998. Chuck Lundeen was part of the pastor nominating committee which chose Rev. Jane Adams Spahr, a lesbian minister, as pastor of Downtown Church. That All May Freely Serve (TAMFS) began in 1993 after Spahr was banned by the Permanent Judicial Commission from accepting a call to serve as a pastor of Downtown Church. Downtown Church formed TAMFS ministry in response, electing Spahr to serve as a "lesbian evangelist" to the PC(USA), and advocating for the full inclusion of LGBTQIA+ Presbyterians. Ed Saphar worked with Virginia West Davidson to establish Spahr as Downtown Church's "lesbian evangelist."

- Chris Shelton became the first openly gay pastor of Broadway Presbyterian Church (New York, NY) in 2011. He grew up Baptist and joined Trinity Presbyterian Church (Denton, Texas) in the 1990s where he became a candidate for ordination under Grace Presbytery. He was ordained in 2004 as Co-Pastor of three congregations in Bergen County, New Jersey.

- Oral history of Stated Clerk Emeritus Cliff Kirkpatrick interviewed by Rev. Dr. Neal Presa and recorded via Zoom by Randy Hobson of OGA Communications on July 25, 2023. The Rev. Dr. Clifton Kirkpatrick is an ordained minister who served for fifteen years as the Director of the Worldwide Ministries Division before becoming Stated Clerk. He served in this capacity from 1996-2008 and, at the conclusion of his service, was elected by the General Assembly as Stated Clerk Emeritus. His other leadership roles included Co-moderator of the General Assembly Special Committee on the Belhar Confession and member of the Board of Directors of the Covenant Network of Presbyterians. Kirkpatrick attended Davidson College (BA), Yale University (MDiv), and McCormick Theological Seminary (DMin).

- Oral history of Stated Clerk Emeritus Cliff Kirkpatrick interviewed by Rev. Dr. Neal Presa and recorded via Zoom by Randy Hobson of OGA Communications on September 7, 2023. The Rev. Dr. Clifton Kirkpatrick is an ordained minister who served for fifteen years as the Director of the Worldwide Ministries Division before becoming Stated Clerk. He served in this capacity from 1996-2008 and, at the conclusion of his service, was elected by the General Assembly as Stated Clerk Emeritus. His other leadership roles included Co-moderator of the General Assembly Special Committee on the Belhar Confession and member of the Board of Directors of the Covenant Network of Presbyterians. Kirkpatrick attended Davidson College (BA), Yale University (MDiv), and McCormick Theological Seminary (DMin).
