- Text transcribed from caption: MOTHER CABRINI CANONIZATION SCHEDULED # R 1813 NEW YORK -- The solemn canonization ceremony of Mother Francesca Xavier Cabrini, first United States citizen to become a saint, will take place in the Basilica of St. Peter’s in late June or July, the Vatican press service has announced. Here six youngsters hold up their hands in supplication before a life-like portrait of the founder of Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
