- Title
- Harvesting “Biblical” wheat.
- Description
- Text transcribed from caption: S-4227 HARVESTING “BIBLICAL” WHEAT ADRIAN, Mich. -- Mr. Perry Hayden (left center), a Quaker miller of Tecumseh, Mich., originator of the famed Biblical wheat experiment harvests a crop in the old-fashioned way at the Fair Grounds here. Hayden began the experiment six years ago by sowing 360 “dynamic kernels.” Each year since he gave ten percent of his harvest as a tithe to the church, replanted all the rest. At final harvest here the experiment netted 66,500 bushels of wheat -- 6,650 to go to Europe’s starving. Credit Must Read: RELIGIOUS NEWS SERVICE PHOTO (JEM-ADRIAN-JOG-8B-6-W)
