- Description
- A Catholic Cistercian monk watches stoically as British soldiers move in to search Our Lady of Bethlehem Monastery at Portglenone in County Antrim. The troops reportedly picked up two priests from the monastery who were accompanying two jailbreakers in clerical garb. Sources in Belfast said the army believed that other revolutionaries may have been hiding in the monastery.

- This was the scene in Westminster's Church House as the Convocations of Canterbury and York held joint sessions at which they voted overwhelmingly to advance negotiations toward a merger of the Anglican and Methodist Churches in England.
