- Text transcribed from caption: P-30967 CHURCH WOMEN HEAR RIGHTS BILL EXPLAINED SAN ANTONIO, Tex. -- Assistant Attorney General Burke Marshall, who head the Justice Department Civil Rights Division, declared at a public interreligious rally at San Antonio, Tex., that the pending civil rights bill will pass but that efforts to enforce its provisions will need continued public support. He spoke at a rally held in conjunction with a meeting of the Board of Managers of the United Church Women, a general department of the National Council of Churches. - Text transcribed from caption: C-31356 LEBANON HONORS SAN ANTONIO ARCHBISHOP SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Archbishop Robert E. Lucey of San Antonio, Texas, receives the medal of Commander of the National Order of the Cedar from Ibrahim El-Ahab, Lebanese ambassador to the U.S. The archbishop was honored for his efforts on behalf of Lebanese people in his archdiocese and for his hospitality to Maronite Rite Patriarch Paul Meouchi of Antioch and All the East when the Lebanese prelate visited San Antonio in 1962. The Patriarch resides in Beirut. Archbishop Lucey praised the people of Lebanon for their long history in promoting freedom and goodwill in the Middle East. This ecclesiastical jet set has come to the college to study under priest and laymen from the Near East, Europe, Mexico and the U.S. The Pastoral Institute, now in its eighth year, offers intensive courses for students involved in various phases of Catholic religious education.
