At right is a member of the Knights of Columbus who participated in the service. Mrs. Nugent converted to Catholicism during the Johnson Administration and was later married in the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington. - Text transcribed from caption: P-30795 PRESIDENT AND FIRST LADY IN EASTER PRAYER FREDERICKSBURG, Tex. -- The 30-seat stone and log St. Barnabas Episcopal church at Fredericksburg, Tex., was the scene of Easter worship for President and Mrs. Lyndon Johnson, shown here kneeling in prayer. The President is a member of the Christian Churches (Disciples of Christ) and Mrs. Johnson belongs to the Episcopal Church. - Text transcribed from caption: P-31805 JOHNSONS GIVE MONASTERY STONE TO TEXAS CHURCH FREDERICKSBURG, Tex. -- President Johnson uses trowel and mortar to seal a stone from the Cypriote monastery of St. Barnabas into the nave wall of the new St. Barnabas Episcopal church at Fredericksburg, Tex. The First Lady (left) also took part in the ceremony. President and Mrs. Johnson, making their first public appearance since the election, gave the stone to the church near their ranch where they frequently have worshipped.
