Edith Millican's correspondence documents medical work in China during and after World War II, giving insight into the training and experiences of, and opportunities for, American women doctors. - Text transcribed from caption: S-4152 BETWEEN SESSIONS AT SILVER BAY MISSIONS CONFERENCE SILVER BAY, N.Y. -- Among the more than 300 church and mission delegates who attended the conference here on the Christian Mission in the Postwar World were these representatives from the foreign field. They are (left to right): Cecil K. Coberdhan, British Guiana student at Hartwick College, Oneonta, N.Y.; Dr. C. T. Tsai, secretary for young people’s work of the Church of Christ in China; Dr. Josefa Ilane of the Philippines, Board of Foreign Missions, Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A.; the Rev. Mrs. Tamaki Uemura, ordained minister of the United Church of Japan, and Robert S. Beharry, British Guiana student at Gettysburg College, Gettysburg, Pa.
