- Text transcribed from caption: C-31763 EDITOR OF AWARD-WINNING MARYKNOLL MAGAZINE MARYKNOLL, N.Y. -- Father Albert J. Nevins, M.M., editor of the much-honored Maryknoll magazine, is shown at his desk at the seminary. The priest recently accepted, in Mexico City, the 1964 Inter-American Press Association--Tom Wallace Award. The award, a bronze plaque, was presented by Manuel Cisneros, former Prime Minister of Peru who now publishes a newspaper in Lima. Mr. Cisneros noted that “since the end of World War II, Maryknoll magazine has made it a policy to actively promote friendship and understanding among the countries and people of the Americas.” Father Nevins, who headed the Catholic Press Association as president for two terms, is the author of many books and articles. McKillop of Brooklyn, N.Y., will represent the Catholic hierarchy on the temporary mission to Japan of the American Council of Volunteer Services [sic] for Foreign Service. Father McKillop was stationed in a Maryknoll mission in Japan before the war and since repatriation has been rector of the Maryknoll College at Los Altos, Cal.
