Ernest Johnson, executive secretary of the Department of Research and Education of the Federal Council of Churches (left) receives the 1945 Clendenin Award in place of the Rev. James Myers, award winter who, because of illness, was unable to be present at the luncheon in his honor at the Hotel New Yorker.
