- Text transcribed from caption: #443 ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY DEDICATES FIRST MOTOR CHURCHES England....This is one of two motor churches recently dedicated by the Lord Archbishop of Canterbury. They are the first two motor churches in the long history of St. George and St. Paul. Each of the “churches on wheels” will carry its own minister, beside the man at the wheel. - Text transcribed from caption: #974 SINGAPORE BISHOP CONFIRMS FORMER WAR PRISONERS The Anglican Bishop of Singapore, Rt. Rev. John Leonard Wilson, conducts a mass confirmation for 120 former prisoners of the Japanese. The bishop himself has been imprisoned since Singapore’s fall in 1942. Service was conducted in the courtyard of the Changi Military P.O.W. camp, formerly Changi Jail. Most of the altar fittings and ornaments had been made by the prisoners.
