Barkenquast of Philadelphia, Pa., clergyman of the Lutheran Church in America and an editor of the denomination’s Board of Parish Education, has been named as the next Protestant chaplain to the English-speaking community in Moscow. He will succeed the Rev. Donald V. Roberts of the United Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A., whose term expires in mid-1965. The Moscow ministry, launched in 1962 and administered through the National Council of Churches, is supported by the Lutheran Church in America, American Baptist Convention and United Presbyterian and Protestant Episcopal Churches. Description: Text transcribed from caption: PC-45917 WATERGATE GUARD RECEIVES KING AWARD PHILADELPHIA -- Frank Wills (right), the security guard who discovered the break-in that led to the Watergate scandal, receives the 1974 Martin Luther King Award from the Rev. Ralph David Abernathy, president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, during the SCLC’s annual meeting in Philadelphia. The King Award is the top honor given by the civil rights organization founded by the late Nobel Peace Prize winner. Mr. Wills, 26, was a security guard at the Watergate complex in Washington in the Summer of 1972. It was he who discovered the break-in at the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee.
