- Text transcribed from caption: P-31039 TANGANYIKA CHURCHMAN CONSECRATED AS BISHOP MOSHI, Tanganyika -- The Rev. Stephano R. Moshi was consecrated as bishop of the Northern Diocese of the newly-constituted Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanganyika, formed last year through the merger of seven Churches. Bishop Hanns Lilje of the Lutheran Church of Hanover, Germany, a past president of the Lutheran World Federation, presided at the colorful services at Moshi, Tanganyika. Bishop Moshi, 58, is presiding officer of the new 400,000-member Church and his diocese has some 160,000 members.
