- Description
- Text transcribed from caption: PROMINENT IN GERMAN CHRISTIAN POLITICAL MOVEMENT #1266 BERLIN -- Mrs. Hildegard Staehle, of Berlin, is an important figure in the Christian Democratic Union of Germany, which is built around remnants of the old Roman Catholic Center party, but is open to members of all faiths. Mrs. Staehle is also a councellor in the Social Service Office of the Berlin City Government. Her husband, Col. Wilhelm Staehle, was murdered by the Gestapo April 29, 1945, for anti-Nazi activity and she was thrown into a concentration camp.
