- Panovs host a 'thank you' party.
- Description
- Text transcribed from caption: J-45869 PANOVS HOST A ‘THANK YOU’ PARTY LONDON -- Soviet ballet dancer Valery Panov gives his wife, Galina, a kiss as the couple, recently allowed to emigrate from the Soviet Union, enjoy their own party in London. The Panovs hosted the party to thank those in Britain who had campaigned to get them out of the USSR. Mr. Panov, a Jew who had been the leading male dancer with the Kirov Ballet, and Mrs. Panov, a ballerina, were fired from their ballet company after they formally requested permission to go to Israel. International public pressure is credited with much of the success of the Panovs’ efforts to emigrate. Credit Must Read: RELIGIOUS NEWS SERVICE PHOTO (B-LON-8B-74-DS)
