- Danish princess to join Orthodox Church.
- Description
- Text transcribed from caption: P-30639 DANISH PRINCESS TO JOIN ORTHODOX CHURCH ATHENS -- Princess Anne-Marie, 17, third in line to the Danish throne, will join the Greek Orthodox Church when she marries Crown Prince Constantine of Greece next January. The couple is shown in Athens during a visit by the Princess last July. The Prince is heir to the throne now held by King Paul and became Regent of Greece during his father's illness. Princess Anne-Marie must renounce all rights to the Danish throne when she is married, since the Danish constitution requires the head of state to belong to the Danish Lutheran Church, and not be queen or king of another country. - "Civilian" premier takes over in Greece.
- Description
- Text transcribed from caption: PC-45824 ‘CIVILIAN’ PREMIER TAKES OVER IN GREECE ATHENS -- The tide turns from a military junta to a civilian-run government of Greece. Army leaders in Greece have turned back the reins of government to the people, and a conservative politician, long self-exiled in Paris, returns to head the government. Constantine Caramanlis, right, is shown as he took the oath of office as Price Minister from Archbishop Seraphim, Primate of Greece and Archbishop of Athens. Key to the turnover was the chaotic situation in Cyprus. Mr. Caramanlis had spent 11 years in exile in France. Credit Must Read: RELIGIOUS NEWS SERVICE PHOTO (1-NY-7D-74-W)
