- Moga Training School.
- Description
- Text transcribed from script: These are the IVth Grade boys working at their class project which is not playing store but is a real vegetable bazaar. This class manages the whole business of receiving from the boys who own individual plots (about 100) the vegetables to be sold, and offering them for sale to the school food committee and to the families on the school compound, including the missionaries. Market prices are charged and the class make no profits. The keep careful accounts including charge and cash accounts, settle up at the end of the month and pay each plot owner what is due. The boys in the back are building a shop and store room to hold vegetables. Practically all the arithmetic work and much of the other work is derived from this project.

- Margaret Moore Gottlieb auto-biographical essays.
- Description
- Two autobiographical essays by Margaret Moore Gottlieb, daughter of American missionaries in India. The first is typewritten and recounts the author's life, beginning in 1937, when she was studying at Wooster College in Wooster, Ohio. Subsequently, this essay recounts the story of Margaret Moore Gottlieb's married life, to Sid Gottlieb, including their rural lifestyle in Northern Virginia, the raising of their four children, their later years spent traveling and volunteering in Australia, Africa, and India, a five-year stint spent residing in Santa Cruz, California, and finally their move back to Northern Virginia. In the second essay, titled "The Anguish of India," the author recounts her childhood and adolescence living in a rural town in India, her feelings about missionary work, her sentiments toward the greater culture she encountered in India, and her thoughts about this culture after returning forty years later to work for a time in a mission hospital.

- Text transcribed from caption: The Committee on World Literacy and Christian Literature. Who will write that millions may read? Young men and women of West Pakistan and India are learning how. They prepare scripts in courses for writers. They bear the discipline of criticism and re-writing and writing again. Advanced training is available in the School of Journalism at Hislop Christian College. The four in this picture attended the International Christian Writers Seminar at Green Lake last summer. Miss Dora Walters prepares religious education materials. Professor Eapen is principal of the Journalism Department at Hislop. Miss Geeta Thomas is completing work for a master's degree in journalism at the University of Wisconsin. Mr. Sasthiasatchy is editor of a Christian magazine. These four represent the many thousands of workers in 54 countries who make the Lit-Lit team. North American supporters supply the logistics.
