Korean-style building here is the only non-Gothic structure on the campus. - Text transcribed from caption: CHRISTIAN COLLEGE IN KOREA FLOURISHING #2033 SEOUL, Korea -- One of the outstanding educational institutions in the country, Chosen Christian College now has a student enrollment of 800 men. Standing just outside this capital city, it was used as a Japanese barracks during the war. Photo shows Underwood Hall, main college building, named after a pioneer Christian missionary to Korea who founded the school. His statue, which stood on the pedestal in front of the building, was taken off its base and melted down for scrap during the war. - Text transcribed from caption: KOREAN EDUCATOR NOW IN THE U.S. #2035 NEW YORK -- Miss Helen Kim (above), first Korean woman to come to the United States since the end of the war with Japan, attended the recent meeting of the YWCA in Atlantic City, N.J., and is conferring with Methodist leaders here and throughout the country. She is president of Ewha College in Seoul, a women’s college sponsored by the Methodist Church and the United Church of Canada.
