- Text transcribed from caption: P-32226 TWO-WAY PHONES CONNECT FUND DINNERS NEW YORK -- Dr. Franklin Clark Fry, president of the Lutheran Church in America, makes telephone contact with one of nine simultaneous dinners held in as many cities to open an $8 million fund campaign for relocation of the Lutheran Theological Seminary in downtown Philadelphia. Dr. Fry and Dr. Donald R. Heiges (center), president of the seminary, addressed the nine dinners from New York via the phone hookup. At right is Dr. Gunnar Knudsen of Reading, Pa., chairman of the board for the seminary. The board voted early in February to relocate the seminary, now in the Mt. Visser ‘t Hooft, general secretary of the international Protestant-Anglican-Orthodox organization since it was formed in 1948.
