- Text transcribed from caption: EDITORS: April 18 marks the anniversary of the famous “Ride of Paul Revere” which occurred in 1775. NORTH CHURCH OF PAUL REVERE FAME #1530 BOSTON -- The Rev. Dr. William Hatch, vicar of the Christ Protestant Episcopal Church the Old North Church from which the lantern warned Paul Revere of the coming of the British stands in the pulpit of the historical edifice. Designed after the traditional of England’s great church architect, Christopher Wren, Old North Church has walls two and a half feet thick. More than a 1,000 persons are said to be buried in the 37 ancient tombs under the church, including the first rector, the Rev. Timothy Cutler, Maj. - Text transcribed from caption: C-31041 NORWAY BISHOP CONSECRATES TRAPPIST PRIEST SPENCER, Mass. -- (RNS)--Coadjutor Bishop John W. Gran, O. C. S. O., of Oslo, Norway, consecrates Father Marius Granato of Southampton, N. Y., as a priest of the Order of Cistercians of the Strict Observance (Trappist Fathers). The ceremony took place in the Trappist Abbey of St. Joseph in Spencer, Mass. Father Granato is a former public school teacher in Southampton. Bishop Gran, 44, was the first bishop consecrated in Norway since 1525. He also was the first Trappist priest to become a bishop since Auxiliary Bishop Augustus Marre of Rheims, France, in the early part of this century. Bishop Gran, a convert to Catholicism, will automatically succeed Bishop James Mangers as head of the Oslo diocese with includes all of predominantly Lutheran Norway.
