- Religion on the move.
- Description
- Text transcribed from caption: RELIGION ON THE MOVE #3169 Shifting populations throughout the United States and Canada during the war years have made churchmen transportation conscious, and as a result they have turned to many different conveyances to bring God’s word to their flocks. The Rev. Gilbert Thompson, of Moose Factory, Ont., uses dogs and snowshoes to reach his congregation. He ministers to both whites and Cree Indians, the latter in their own tongue. They in turn translate his message into Eskimo for any of that race present. Mr. Thompson prefers travel by boat in the summer to dogs or snowshoes in winter.
