- Text transcribed from caption: EDITORS: April 18 marks the anniversary of the famous “Ride of Paul Revere” which occurred in 1775. NORTH CHURCH OF PAUL REVERE FAME #1530 BOSTON -- The Rev. Dr. William Hatch, vicar of the Christ Protestant Episcopal Church the Old North Church from which the lantern warned Paul Revere of the coming of the British stands in the pulpit of the historical edifice. Designed after the traditional of England’s great church architect, Christopher Wren, Old North Church has walls two and a half feet thick. More than a 1,000 persons are said to be buried in the 37 ancient tombs under the church, including the first rector, the Rev. Timothy Cutler, Maj.
