- Church sponsors employment bureau.
- Description
- Text transcribed from caption: CHURCH SPONSORS EMPLOYMENT BUREAU #3319 CHICAGO -- To aid its returning servicemen--more than 700--to find jobs, the North Austin Lutheran church here has opened an employment bureau. Here the Rev. Fred W. Otterbein (left) interviews one of his parishioners, Charles G. Huebner, returned vet who saw service with the Signal Corps, and is seeking placement in the electronics or communications industry. Dr. Otterbein keynotes his interviews with shirt-sleeve informality and after learning the veteran’s qualifications gets in touch with one of the many companies cooperating with the bureau. The service also is open to any of the other 5,000 members of the congregation who are in search of jobs. Credit Must Read: RELIGIOUS NEWS SERVICE PHOTO (AN-CHI-MES-4C-6-L-W)
