- Migrant workers' children confirmed.
- Description
- C-31393 MIGRANT WORKERS' CHILDREN CONFIRMED STURGEON BAY, Wis. -- Auxiliary Bishop John B. Grellinger of Green Bay, Wis., administers Confirmation to children of migrant workers in St. Joseph's church, Sturgeon Bay. They were among some 500 children who made their Confirmation and received their First Holy Communion in two churches of the Green Bay diocese. The rites climaxed the diocese's 17th annual apostolate to migrant workers in the state. The children received their instructions for the Sacraments from about 200 lay volunteers, who also taught hundreds of other youths and adults. Several centers are operated by the diocese for the spiritual and material welfare of thousands of Spanish-speaking farm workers who come to Wisconsin for the Summer harvest.
