- Text transcribed from caption: C-30844 SCHOOL NAMED FOR HEROIC MARYKNOLL BISHOP BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- Honors for a Maryknoll pioneer in the Chinese mission field. The Bishop Francis X. Ford High School in Brooklyn, N.Y., is named for the heroic missionary who died in a Communist prison camp in 1952. This mural of Bishop Ford is shown to school students by Father Bernard F. - Religion on the move.
- Description
- Text transcribed from caption: #994 RELIGION ON THE MOVE Shifting populations throughout the United States and Canada during the war years have made churchmen transportation conscious, and as a result they have turned to many different conveyances to bring God’s work to their flocks. To serve members of the congregation who have moved to other districts, this trailer chapel of the Second Church of Christ, Brooklyn, N.Y. was built and equipped by the Rev. and Mrs. Elmer C. Kile and their parents. Mr. Kile is shown addressing members of the church outside the “mother church” building.
