- Text transcribed from caption: P-31429 INJURED VAULTER AT CHRISTIAN CONFERENCE ASHLAND, Ore. -- Former champion pole-vaulter Brian Sternberg, paralyzed in an accident, was speaker at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Conference at Southern Oregon College, Ashland, Ore., which was attended by some 500 top Pacific Coast athletes and coaches. Here, the injured vaulter is visited in the college infirmary by Leonard LeSourd, executive director of Guideposts, non-denominational inspirational monthly magazine, and his wife, Catherine Marshall, author of religious books including "A Man Called Peter."
