Description: Text transcribed from caption: P-32195 SENIOR AFRICAN PASTORS NEW YORK -- Certificates marking completion of a nine-month African Senior Pastors’ Institute in the U.S. were presented to 10 African clergymen at the National Council of Churches’ headquarters in New York. Jointly arranged by the NCC and the World Council of Churches, the institute included seminary study, conferences and three months of local parish work. From left to right are the Rev. Joseph Adeke of the Anglican Church in Uganda; the Rev. Geoffrey Ngare, Presbyterian pastor from Ghana; the Rev. David Gana, Presbyterian pastor from West Cameroon; the Rev. Title: A Towering Monarch Fallen.
Description: The trees of the rainforest rain from scrub to majestic type such as here pictured - a giant cottonwood. Prized very highly for its beautifully grained lumber is the African mahogany, quantities of which have been exported to Europe and America. Some mission residences have been constructed of finished white mahogany, the waxed grain supplanting the need for pictures.
