- Text transcribed from caption: PC-30829 NEW VERSION “Whistler’s Mother,” Civil Rights version, as drawn by Hy Rosen, staff cartoonish of the Albany Times-Union. Cartoon shows Mrs. Malcolm Peabody, 72, of Cambridge, Mass., who was arrested in Jacksonville, Fla., for her efforts to integrate public accommodations there. Mrs. Peabody is the wife of a retired Protestant Episcopal bishop and the mother of an Episcopal priest and Gov. Endicott Peabody of Massachusetts.
