- Text transcribed from caption: PHOTO NUMBER: PC-50072 WOMEN PROTEST NEUTRON BOMB WASHINGTON -- Members of the Women Strike for Peace demonstrated, above, in front of the White House July 20 to protest President Carter's support of the neutron bomb and cruise missiles. Meanwhile, Mr. Carter advised the Soviet Union in a speech before Southern legislators at Charleston, S.C., that the U.S. was prepared to limit its strategic weapons programs, such as the development of the cruise missile, if Moscow would agree to controls on its heavy intercontinental missiles.
