A Christian congregation had been worshipping in Sorai village before the first Presbyterian missionaries set foot in Korea (Dr. Horace Allen) in 1884. This congregation was composed of smugglers who had heard the gospel from missionaries in Chefoo, China & Manchuria. RH Baird, Apr. '73."
