- Amid the COVID-19 crisis, churches across the nation have shown themselves to be beacons of hope—providing food and social services, pastoral care, and online worship. The Presbyterian Historical Society has responded to this unprecedented moment by gathering 2020 Easter Sunday worship services and sermons from PC(USA) congregations and other worshiping communities. The COVID-19 collection is a curated selection of these contributions, including services from congregations in California, Florida, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Pennsylvania -- including Arabic and Hakha Chin services from First Presbyterian Church (Allentown, Pa.) -- Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.

- Description
- Bettie J. Durrah is a Presbyterian elder, born in Newman, Georgia, a fourth-generation African American Presbyterian. She completed a bachelor's degree in Biology at Spelman College, and holds two master's degrees, from Clark Atlanta University and Georgia State University. From 1995 to 2004 she served in the PC(USA) Women's Ministries as national staff in the Synods of Living Waters, Mid-Atlantic, South Atlantic, and Trinity. An elder at Radcliffe Presbyterian Church (Atlanta, Ga.), she has served as moderator of Presbyterian Women at congregation, presbytery, and synod levels; as moderator of the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta; and was a commissioner to the 2000 General Assembly.

- Movie produced by the Center for Democratic Renewal documenting the Ku Klux Klan's involvement in and influence on the City of Blakely Fire Department. Includes coverage of the deaths of Charles McCoy and Antavious Williams, two African American children, purportedly due to the fire department's negligence; an interview segment with Sara Ann McCoy, mother of Charles; a speech by Rev. Dr. Mac Charles Jones, vice chair of the Center for Democratic Renewal; interview segments with Ben Cawthon and Wilbur Robinson of Blakely's Concerned Black Citizens Committee; and a statement by David Griffin, former Blakely City Council member, asserting that Blakely fire chief Franklin Brown was a member of the Ku Klux Klan.

- Deborah Block was in the first generation of women who were ordained in the United Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A. She graduated from Carroll College in 1974 and began ordained ministry in 1978 at Immanuel Presbyterian Church (Milwaukee, WI). Deborah became an advocate for LGBTQ rights at the 1978 General Assembly and went on to serve as co-moderator of the Covenant Network.

- Timothy Hart-Andersen is a Presbyterian minister, a founding Board Member of the Covenant Network of Presbyterians, and one of the initiators of the NEXT Church movement. He was ordained by the Presbytery of Los Ranchos in 1985, and took the pastorate at Old First Presbyterian Church (San Francisco, Calif.) in 1990. Since 1999, he has served as pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church (Minneapolis, Minn.).

- Daniel Vigilante graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary in 2004, where he joined the student group Bisexual, Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Supporters (BGLASS). He was ordained by Westminster Presbyterian Church on August 25, 2013, becoming one of the first openly gay Presbyterian ministers to be ordained in Minnesota. In the early 2000s, he became actively involved in the Covenant Network, primarily working with Youth Advisory Delegates at General Assembly.
